I didn’t know anything about this case until I listened to Serial. By the end of it I had come to the conclusion that I felt the podcast was trying everything to keep me from; that Syed was likely guilty. So it astounded me to hear after that that the podcast had somehow inspired a crusade to prove his innocence and free an innocent man from an unjust sentence. The fact HBO is hopping on board this train is pretty irritating to me, as are the implications that he was convicted due to a racial and cultural bias against his religion and country of origin. I did not see any of this in the case.
