I know about code-switching, having studied sociolinguistics. However, the clear issue, which in my opinion hasn’t been decided yet, is whether the dialect AOC slipped into is native to her or not. As others pointed out, she left the Bronx at age 5, so how is that a natural dialect for her?

At least she didn’t say, “After I get done talking to y’all I’m gonna get my hair did.”
