I remember being shocked by the hordes of homeless people in Berkeley and San Francisco the first time I visited the Bay Area in 1981 and then when I came there for school in 1987. By the time I came back in the 1997 I was prepared for it. I left for good in 1999 and I understand it has changed massively since then, but are there really more homeless people? Is it because of tech? Who were all the numerous homeless people there before?
