I see a headline about college degrees expiring, and then I am 10 paragraphs in still reading about snow days, milk, and running out of toilet paper. Couldn’t the point have begun by the second paragraph?

Yes, there are many fields of knowledge that are changing and updating so quickly that people need to go back to night school and catch up on the latest developments. Anyone who wants to stay in that kind of profession who doesn’t just learn the updates organically on the job, should be seeking out classes to keep them sharp and up to date with their field.

Luckily, my field of study (linguistics) was so irrelevant to the job market that I will never have that problem.
