That’s not actually a Karen, but I think you know that. A Karen is not a socioeconomic position; it’s a state of mind. You don’t have it. You didn’t act entitled and the fact that you have the privilege of deciding whether to go back to work doesn’t mean you have an attitude. Even when you were upset that the balloon vendor got your order wrong, that was justified. The fact you came back and apologized was extremely un-Karen. A Karen would have immediately made a scene, demanding the balloons immediately, and threatened to post about how terrible the store was on her Instagram.
