“There are two boxes. One says ‘girl stuff’ and the other says ‘boy stuff’. Everyone is told to chose one, but I grabbed them both, dumped everything out on the floor, and picked up all the things I liked”.

I think this describes the vast majority of people. What I don’t understand is why we have to accept the definitions of “girl stuff” and “boy stuff.” I don’t. I was a girl and now I am a woman and I like what I like and wear what I like. I don’t consider my interests and tastes, whether in dresses or suits or glitter or pick up trucks the arbiter of my gender. Girls can like trucks and wear pants in dull colors and still be girls. Boys can like dolls and wear pink and still be boys. What confuses me is when people say that you can’t.
